The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is a real crucible for rodeo athletes — both equine and human. Ten rounds competing against the best of the best means the stress level is through the roof and the winners that eventually emerge truly deserve the title of World Champion.
This year, Team 707 can claim two world champions — Lindsay Sears in barrel racing and Stran Smith in tie-down roping — and a more than just respectable showing from Todd Suhn, who placed 3rd in steer wrestling.
All three are regular users of Formula 707 Daily Essentials™, Formula 707 Joint Essentials 5-in-1™ and other Formula 707 products.
Record-breaking performance.
Lindsay Sears won five of the 10 rounds in Las Vegas, to take home $139,002 from the Wrangler NFR, but more importantly, she was the first to ever break $300,000 in barrel racing, ending the season with $323,570 in earnings along with the world championship gold buckle.
Sears’ Quarter Horse, Martha, was named the AQHA Barrel racing Horse of the Year and she’s quick to give credit where credit is due.
“I'm so thankful that I have such an awesome horse,” Sears told ESPN. “Martha's really the world champion. She deserves it, and I'm so proud of her."
In an interview with Formula707.com earlier this year, Sears said, “You know, there’ll never be another Martha. She’s definitely an exceptional horse, and she’s young – she’s just eight years old this year, so she’s got a lot of good years left in her. We’re just trying to take care of her to make sure she’ll have all those good years.”
One of the protections Lindsay employs is a daily ration of Formula 707 Daily Essentials™, Joint Essentials 5-in-1™ and Formula 707 Glo-n-Go™.
“Whatever Martha needs, Martha gets, that’s kind of my motto,” Lindsay says.
Tenth time’s the charm.
The tie-down roping title came down to the final round, but in the end, Stran Smith was the World Champion. A 10-time Wrangler NFR qualifier, Smith tied his calf in 7.2 seconds in Round 10 to clinch the average and world titles with $181,401 in season earnings.
In addition to his accomplishments as a roper, Stran is well known as a horseman’s horseman – twice having his mounts named AQHA Horse of the Year – who believes in doing everything he can to keep his horses in top condition. In an interview with Formula707.com last spring, Smith said he uses a number of Formula 707 products.
“I’ve always been a person that tries to take better care of my horses than I do myself, and it just seemed like to me that Formula 707 had all of the things that I was looking for.”
Among the Formula 707 Smith feeds daily is Formula 707 Joint Essentials 5-in-1.
“I never let them come off the Joint Essentials. Even when they go home, it’s something they get every day no matter what. I feel like that’s so important because they are giving you 100 percent every day, so I want to make sure that I’m doing everything I can do to keep them feeling as good as I possibly can.”
Steer wrestlers, too.
Todd Suhn is a veteran who knows what it’s like to compete in Las Vegas. This year, Suhn finished third in the average for the steer wrestling competition, earning $27,534. He was 8th in the final world standings, with season earnings of $129,338.
Rodeo performers at the top of their profession rely on Formula 707 to supply everything their horses need to stay in top condition. Maybe you should, too.
